Its time to introduce Uncle Edward. Edward Campden (born Jan, 12th 1932) is Jane's uncle - husband of her mother's younger sister- and he studied at the Royal College of Art in London from 1953 to 1956, specialising in ceramics. He subsequently taught at various schools in and around Langley Mill in Nottinghamshire.

There are several examples of his work as a potter, as a sculptor, and as an artist in the Collection, of which this eclectic little group of 5 pieces were gifted by Edward to Jane over the years. They are all signed and dated.

Edward delighted in copying the styles and techniques of other potters, and any serious student of ceramics will easily recognise who he is imitating in each of these objects.
