A landscape in oils on canvas by English artist Jean Grose (1926 – 1970), probably painted in the 1960’s.  Signed and framed.     77 cm wide by 61 cm high.  

Clearly influenced by the impressionists, this picture could easily be of the outskirts of Arles (Van Gogh) or of Pointiers (Camille Pisarro). Other than the dates of birth and death, I have no details at all about this artist. We bought the picture, which has some superficial surface damage, at Bonham’s Knightsbridge saleroom (200 yards from our front door) in 2005 (sale 13343, lot 37).

Un paisaje al óleo sobre lienzo del artista inglés Jean Grose (1926 – 1970), probablemente pintado en la década de 1960. Firmado y enmarcado. 77 cm de ancho por 61 cm de alto. 

Claramente influenciado por los impresionistas, este cuadro bien podría ser de las afueras de Arles (Van Gogh) o de Pointiers (Camille Pisarro). Aparte de las fechas de nacimiento y muerte, no tengo ningún detalle sobre este artista. Compramos el cuadro, que tiene algunos daños en la superficie superficial, en la sala de subastas de Knightsbridge de Bonham (a 200 metros de nuestra puerta principal) en 2005 (venta 13343, lote 37).
