English

A large oak-framed chair by an unknown maker dating from the 1920’s.  104 cmhigh by 47 cm wide by 53 cm deep.

This well-made chair has a solid oak back (hints of art nouveau along the top) with eleven decorative spindles, elegant gabriole front legs and an upholstered leathercloth seat. It arrived with us in 1998 from Jane’s maternal grandparents via her mother. It had a broken right front leg, which I mended to the best of my ability.  It was purported to be the office chair of their bakery business (Cleavers) in Banbury.
