English

Two oak framed cane-seated chairs made by an unknown maker (believed to be French) in the 1920’s. 89 cm high by 45 cm wide by 40cm deep.

These two chairs, in art deco style, were bought in 2002 from Julie Collino in bad condition as part of her closing down sale (See 02.08, ‘Lady wearing a boater’) . The detachable cane seats were re-caned by Susan Wright  of Barking Tye in Suffolk. After cleaning and polishing, the chairs themselves are smart and stylish.
