A painting in oils on canvas, attributed to German/American artist Robert Ernst Marx (1925-2020) dated second half of the 20th century. Signed MARX on the back, and framed. 200cm high by 150 cm wide.  

This picture was bought at the Bonhams saleroom in Montpelier Street in Knightsbridge, London (about 300 m from our house in Trevor Square) in a sale of 20th century painters called ‘Vision 21’. (Sale number 11457, Lot 41). Robert E Marx was born in Germany. His family fled to the United States and he was educated there, taking a Masters degree in Fine Arts at the University of Illinois in 1951. He lived and worked in Rochester NY.  He wrote:- ‘The people that I draw, paint and sculpt personify the human condition. They are also the people that we see around us every day.’

Pintura al óleo sobre lienzo, atribuida al artista alemán/estadounidense Robert Ernst Marx (1925-2020), fechada en la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Firmado MARX al dorso y enmarcado. Mide 200 cm de alto por 150 cm de ancho. 

Este cuadro fue comprado en la sala de subastas Bonhams, en Montpelier Street, Knightsbridge, Londres (a unos 300 m de nuestra casa en Trevor Square) en una venta de pintores del siglo XX llamada 'Vision 21'. (Venta número 11457, Lote 41). Robert E Marx nació en Alemania. Su familia huyó a los Estados Unidos y allí se educó, obteniendo una Maestría en Bellas Artes en la Universidad de Illinois en 1951. Vivió y trabajó en Rochester NY. Él escribió: ”Las personas que dibujo, pinto y esculpo personifican la condición humana. También son las personas que vemos a nuestro alrededor todos los días”.
