Oils on Canvas, painted by F. M. Skipworth (1854-1929), early twentieth century, framed, initialed on the back, 33 cm. high by 29 cm. wide.

Bought from Julie Collino (see 87.04) in 2001. English portrait painter, Frank Markham Skipworth was born in Castor, Lincolnshire in 1854 and studied for two years at the Lincoln School of Art, and for three years at the Royal Academy of Arts school under Edward Paynter, followed by three years in Paris working with Adolphe William Bouguereau. He became a successful portrait artist in London and exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy. He died in 1929.

 Comprado a Julie Collino (ver 87.04) en 2001. Frank Markham Skipworth, pintor retratista inglés, nació en Castor, Lincolnshire, en 1854 y estudió durante dos años en la Lincoln School of Art y durante otros tres en la escuela de la Royal Academy of Arts, bajo la tutela de Edward Paynter, más otros tres años en París trabajando con Adolphe William Bouguereau. 

Se convirtió en un exitoso retratista en Londres y expuso regularmente en la Royal Academy. Murió en 1929.
